Capture and Enhanced Numbering Updates to Colorado > Academic Standards > All Subjects

 

All subjects within the Colorado > Academic Standards publication contain clarifications that fall under a section titled Academic Context and Connections. These statements contain raw numbers in the source files. In order to better support our clients, we have made changes to our captures and created enhanced numbering for the clarifications.

 

How will this change impact the standards data?

We removed labels from statements and instead made them levels of hierarchy. Then, we added in enhanced numbering for all levels. 

 

Here is an example of the original capture with enhanced numbering:

  • Academic Context and Connections
    • Colorado Essential Skill 1 Recognize and describe cause-and-effect relationships about the past (Civic Engagement).
    • Colorado Essential Skill 2 Demonstrate curiosity about the past (Creativity and Innovation).
    • Inquiry Question 1 What is history?
    • Inquiry Question 2 What do primary sources tell me about the past?
    • Inquiry Question 3 How are the lives of people from the past both similar and different from our lives today?

Here is an example of the updated capture with enhanced numbering:

  • 1.1.ACC Academic Context and Connections
    • 1.1.ACC.CES Colorado Essential Skills:
      • 1.1.ACC.CES.1 Recognize and describe cause-and-effect relationships about the past (Civic Engagement).
      • 1.1.ACC.CES.2 Demonstrate curiosity about the past (Creativity and Innovation).
    • 1.1.ACC.IQ Inquiry Questions:
      • 1.1.ACC.IQ.1 What is history?
      • 1.1.ACC.IQ.2 What do primary sources tell me about the past?
      • 1.1.ACC.IQ.3 How are the lives of people from the past both similar and different from our lives today?

 

How will this change impact alignments?

These statements are not alignable, so it is not likely that there are any existing alignments. If there are, they will not change.

 

When is this change taking effect?

All changes will be in place on Monday, 5/27/24. 

 

What action must I take?

To reflect these changes and receive the enhanced numbering, it is our recommendation that you update your standards.
