Deleting Free for Teacher Canvas Accounts
If you decide that you are no longer in need of your Canvas account under the canvas.instrucuture.com or k12.instructure.com Canvas instance, you can request to delete your account. Users are not able to delete their own accounts, and must fill out a support ticket for this process to occur.
It is strongly recommended that you ensure you don't need access to any of your data or information that exists on your Canvas account before requesting an account deletion, as once your account is deleted, the process to recover it isn't possible.
To get started, please sign in to your Canvas account. After singing in, locate the 'Help' button via the Canvas global navigation menu (the left side-bar). Locate the 'Report a Problem' link, click on it, and fill out the form, requesting an account deletion.
Report a Problem link on Global Navigation
If your account does NOT have access to the Report a Problem link, you will need to enroll yourself in a course as a teacher to proceed. You can create a new course by clicking the 'Start a new Course' button, name your course something random, then create the course. Then, after refreshing your page, you should be able to locate the 'Report a Problem' link and follow the process above. Please note, it might take a couple of minutes for your help menu to update before having access to see the 'Report a Problem' link.

If you are unable to complete the steps listed above, as a very, very last resort, please email community@instructure.com. Please include your name, email address, which FFT domain your user account is associated with, and include that you'd like an account deletion. Once again, please only email the Community Team directly if you have verified that you are unable to complete the steps above. You should always try to request an account deletion using the process listed above, first, as the Community Team may verify that you attempted the steps before you directly reached out.
That's it! That's how you can request to delete your Free For Teacher Canvas account. Thank you in advance for your patience as the team works on your request.
