Is there any way to grade peer review responses without creating a separate assignment? Anyone developing a customization for this?

Hello. I direct a writing program. Many faculty would like to grade the peer review responses. Has anyone developed a customization to do this? As I understand it now, in order to grade the peer review of a student, one must create a separate assignment.
