"Empowering Educators: EdTech Solutions for Shifting Landscape" was presented at the CanvasConnect Alberta in May 2025.
In this presentation, I explore the evolving landscape of education technology—from the early days of chalkboards to today’s innovations like AI, VR, and mobile learning. I reflect on how far we’ve come and where we’re headed, with a focus on Instructure’s role in building a platform that’s safe, open, effective, and equitable.
As AI capabilities continue to grow, I look how they’re being integrated into educational tools, why transparency and data privacy matter more than ever, and how these technologies are shaping instructor workloads, student expectations, and engagement across disciplines. I also touch on one of the most exciting shifts: how AI is helping democratize expertise and unlock richer, more personalized learning experiences.
