Detailed Analytics for Time on Task

Is it possible to view how much time a student spends completing a task or assignment? This data would help instructors fine-tune the instructional hours per module or week in noncredit and CBE courses.

Hi @jcagley -

This is tricky because a participant can open a page but not actively work/engage in the material. 

Would it be possible to add survey questions after each module for estimates? I know that the time spent is important as you build credits, but you also want to do so accurately. The data "timers" available in Canvas Data may not be accurate enough for official documentation.

That's very true, but an average, even including the off-task, would still provide helpful information as we're revising curriculum.
