Give Option to Not Allow Discussion Post Until Reading Others Comments

I honestly do not understand why the discussions have the option to force students to post before seeing what others have said. A discussion should be interactive, a conversation, not a bunch of one-sided monologues and then single responses to the monologues. I want it the other way around: I want to be able to keep students from posting until they've read every previous post in the discussion--that way, I don't get a bunch of repetitions of the exact same idea or same questions, or have students posting mistaken ideas that were corrected in others earlier in the discussion. This kind of option is available in Moodle. I would like to have it in Canvas, too.

As part of the new Ideas & Themes process, all ideas in Idea Conversations were reviewed by the Product Team. Any Idea that was associated with an identified theme was moved to the new Idea & Themes space. Any Idea that was not part of the move is being marked as Archived. This will preserve the history of the conversations while also letting Community members know that Instructure will not explore the request at this time.
