Moderate Student Messages in Inbox

Teachers need to be able to moderate the private messaging service that Canvas currently offers to students. My duty of care is such that the school cannot be seen to be providing the students with a way to privately cyber-bully each other. At the very least, there needs to be the option of moderating the language through a profanity filter, but really, we need to be able to have a sub-folder of the teacher’s inbox where the teacher can view all messages sent by the students (no matter who the students were messaging at the time).

Essentially, we need teachers to be BCC’d in to all student messages.

Thank you,

Andi

As an admin, I would like an inbox notification system for canvas messaging that will automatically send the admin an email for certain terms (i.e. suicide or inappropriate conduct) that are used in messages. We have filters in place for the internet but they don't catch all canvas inbox verbiage.

As part of the new Ideas & Themes process, all ideas in Idea Conversations were reviewed by the Product Team. Any Idea that was associated with an identified theme was moved to the new Idea & Themes space. Any Idea that was not part of the move is being marked as Archived. This will preserve the history of the conversations while also letting Community members know that Instructure will not explore the request at this time.
