More groups needed on canvas

Currently, canvas allows creation of 200 groups. With the current situation of learning online. Some of our department such as the Engineering department require up-to 500 groups to fit in all students. Will be be beneficial if the limit is extended.

Would like to see Canvas support more than 200 groups too.

It appears that the 200 group max only applies if using the option to automatically assign students. If you are doing a CSV import, you can exceed the 200 group limit and it seems to work fine.

The Product Team reviewed all feature proposals recently, and unfortunately, this thread was identified as one that they would not be able to include in their current or future plans. While we appreciate your proposal, we also want to be transparent about the likelihood of something like this making it to production.
