Too Cumbersome: Imputing Allowed or Restricted Files

Here's the deal: I just want to block HEIC, but to do that is so cumbersome. Then whatever I do still doesn't work and still have to get after my Iphone users repeatedly.

When editing/creating a new assignment, we Click Through

  • Submission Type
  • Online
  • File Upload
  • Restrict file types
  • THEN TYPE the Allowed File Extensions
    • Instructions unclear..... I cannot figure out what to type to make it work.
      • It appears that typing a period mucks up some sort of code formatting. but spacing it with a comma only with no spaces makes no sense either. I've tried but one student or another can't turn their jpeg or gdoc in.

So Canvas Infrastructure ... if some files can't be read by your programming, why make it an available option to begin with.

But if it must be included: Then can you provide a cleaner format to select/deselect allowable/restricted file formats?
