Enhancing Existing Rubrics

Hi all! Late to the party with this one, as we missed joining in the EAPs for the AI Generated Rubrics! So I apologize in advance if this has been discussed somewhere else that I couldn't find.

I am curious if this AI rubric generator can be fed an existing rubric (that is super basic and maybe in a word doc or PDF form) and help boost it so it is a) more effective, b) in Canvas and able to be used in the SpeedGrader, and c) able to be used with the AI Grade Assist feature (which requires criterion to have explanations instead of the ever popular "exceeded, met, did not meet" generic blurb).

I am working to try and coach some faculty towards using rubrics more effectively, and this feature will definitely help with that--but we have a few who already "have" rubrics--but the either aren't in canvas or they aren't really all that detailed and wouldn't be compatible with the Grade Assist feature.

IF this is possible--can someone provide the details on how to upload or feed the generator the existing rubric--and if it's not, can that be considered as a feature upgrade for this?

Thanks so much! It's been fun exploring this as it released as a feature preview!

@EmilyCottrell Great call out - and thanks for sharing the 'why' behind your request. This isn't something that we can currently do with the AI Rubric Generator. This first version of the feature focuses on Rubric Creation, but editing/regenerating existing rubrics is definitely something we plan to add into future iterations. If possible, I would definitely recommend generating new rubrics to use with Grading Assistance - it can be much quicker than adding and editing existing rubrics.
