Impact Research Study for Faculty  [Added 2025-05-24]

Template Preview

The purpose of this campaign is to support an important research initiative in partnership with Instructure’s research team. The goal of this study is to better understand how instructors engage with embedded support and communication tools within Canvas—tools admins have been implementing through Impact.

What the study involves:

  • A short, one-time survey for instructors in May 2025 (via Qualtrics)
  • Questions that explore instructor experience with messaging, support content, and instructional impact
  • Findings that help improve the Impact tool, best practices for institutions, and hopefully demonstrate evidence of the effectiveness of Impact

Note: The survey will close on June 4th, 2025.

    • Modules page: Mastery paths drop-down menu item

    • More menu button
    • Course settings page: (actual) navigation tab
    • Gradebook page: Grade Detail Tray
  • The Campaign Monitors Report is formally deprecated and removed from the Dashboard.

Integrated Tools Report  [Added 2025-05-24]

The following changes are implemented in the Integrated Tools report:

Now, many of these LTI launch-only monitors, available within the Impact Dashboard, can also be found in the new LTI Usage feature set. This enhancement enables admins to view, analyze, and act on launch data for any or all of the LTI tools within the Canvas instance, offering deeper insights and improved data visualization.

With LTI Usage enabling more effective data visualization and analysis, the existing OOTB LTI launch-only monitors is now assigned the Legacy Monitors Tool Category. As part of this transition, they are to be categorized in a new Legacy Monitor Category (called Legacy LTI launch-only Monitors) within the Integrated Tools Report. This change only addresses OOTB launch only monitors; not locally created monitors for homegrown tools or redirects are affected.

This update ensures a more streamlined and comprehensive approach to monitoring LTI tool usage empowering admins with better tools for decision making and engagement.
