Impact Release Notes (2024-06-28)

In this Impact release, an updated feature for LTI Tools is available. Accessibility updates are implemented for Inline Editor, Support Center, Users and Permissions, Support, Account, Settings, LTI Tools, Insights, Walkthroughs, Campaigns, Messages, Login, and Global Navigation.

Insights

The following are accessibility improvements to Insights:

  • In the Canvas Course Activity table, the Resize Column element is accessible to Screen Reader users.
  • In the Canvas Course Activity tab, the No Result search result message is announced to Screen Reader users.
  • In the My Reports tab, errors for the Report Name field and the Report Description field are announced to Screen Reader users.
  • In the My Reports tab, the Save successfully status message is announced to Screen Reader users.
  • In the My Reports tab, the Report name field and the Report description field and their background display the appropriate color contrast.
  • In the My Reports tab, the No data exists yet status message is announced to Screen Reader users.
  • In the My Reports tab, errors for the Monitors field and the Select User Groups field are announced to Screen Reader users.

Inline Editor

The following are accessibility improvements to the Inline Editor:

  • When error messages display in fields, additional visual indicators are added for accessibility.
  • In the Content Library, all interactive functionality is accessible to Keyboard-only users.
  • When selecting a custom element, the Screen Reader announces elements in the appropriate tab order.
  • In the Inline Editor, all active interface components display the appropriate color contrast.
  • The Monitor Title and Description fields display and announce the required label for Screen Reader users.
  • The Walkthrough Tool Categories are announced to Screen Reader users along with the checked/unchecked state.
  • The Walkthrough Editor Title and Description fields display the appropriate color contrast.
  • The Walkthrough Editor Visible from and Visible to fields display the appropriate color contrast.
  • The Walkthrough Editor Orientation dropdown menu is announced to Screen Reader users.
  • The Walkthrough Restrict content to this page element is announced to Screen Reader users along with the checked/unchecked state.
  • The Walkthrough Edit Step fields display the appropriate color contrast.
  • Like and Dislike buttons are accessible to Keyboard-only and Screen Reader users and the number of likes and dislikes are announced.

  • In the Walkthrough Editor, focus stays within the modal and the elements are attainable in the tab order to Keyboard-only and Screen Reader users.
  • Status messages are announced to Screen Reader users.
  • Page loads are announced to Screen Reader users.
  • Graphical objects display the appropriate color contrast.

 

Support Center

The following are accessibility improvements to the Support Center:

  • Popup message Like and Dislike buttons are accessible to Keyboard-only and Screen Reader users and the number of likes and dislikes are announced.
  • When emailing support, the elements are accessible and in tab order to Keyboard-only users.
  • All active user interface components display the appropriate color contrast.
  • All text and images of text display the appropriate color contrast.
  • The Summary, Impact Functional Area, and description fields announce a Required label for Screen Reader users.
  • In the Attach a File box, focus is visible around the Click to add manually button.
  • When interactive elements receive focus, keyboard focus is indicated visually.
  • After entering a text that results in an error, focus is moved to the first field in error and the error is announced to Screen Reader users.
  • In the Visibility Settings, all interactive functionality is accessible to Keyboard-only users.
  • After opening an article, content displays appropriately when the browser zoom is increased and the viewport width is larger.

In the Feature Permission tab, a caption is added inside the table tag with a description of the information contained in the table.

 

Support

The following are accessibility improvements to Support:

  • In the Design tab, the Save changes status message is announced to Screen Reader users.
  • In the Design tab, the Subject field and Date and Time fields are accessible to Screen Reader and Keyboard-only users and display the appropriate color contrast.
  • In the Arrange Articles tab, the Clear search button is accessible to Screen Reader and Keyboard-only users.
  • When creating a new category in the Arrange Articles tab, all fields display the appropriate color contrast.
  • When creating a new category in the Arrange Articles tab, all fields and checkboxes are announced to Screen Reader users.
  • In the Design tab, when the Send email button is disabled it is announced to Screen Reader users.
  • In the Design tab, the drag and drop functions are accessible to Keyboard-only users and display the appropriate color contrast.
  • The Search field and its background display the appropriate color contrast.
  • The Tips for Assignments in PBL button and its background display the appropriate color contrast.
  • Hoverable content is accessible to Screen Reader users.
  • In the Arrange Articles tab, the drag and drop functions are accessible to Keyboard-only and Screen Reader users.

 

Walkthroughs

The following are accessibility improvements to Walkthroughs:

  • The Add Button button is announced with a description of its function to Screen Reader users.
  • The Message type dropdown menu displays the appropriate color contrast.
  • The step creation dropdown menus display the appropriate color contrast.
  • In the Buttons section, the Delete button status message is announced to Screen Reader users.

 

Account

The following are accessibility improvements to Account:

  • The Authentication Verification text is labeled as a heading tag.
  • The Enter code field displays the appropriate color contrast.

 

Settings

The following are accessibility improvements to Settings:

  • In the Custom User Groups tab, the Custom User Group Name and Description fields are announced with a description to Screen Reader users.
  • The Custom User Group Preview status message with the number of users is announced to Screen Reader users.
  • In the Custom User Groups tab, the Select condition button is announced to Screen Reader users.
  • In the Custom User Groups tab, the Select condition button and its background displays the appropriate color contrast.

 

LTI Tools

The following are accessibility improvements to LTI Tools:

  • The Select all rows checkbox and the background displays the appropriate color contrast.
  • The Sortable button and the background display the appropriate color contrast.
  • The Delete group element and its background display the appropriate color contrast.
  • The data table displays the appropriate tags with a description of the information contained in the table for Screen Reader users.

 

Campaigns

The following are accessibility improvements to Campaigns:

  • After activating an Add a Filter button, the focus is contained within the new filter.
  • Image elements display the appropriate labels and alt text with a description of images for Screen Reader users.
  • When adding a campaign, form fields display the appropriate label and description for Screen Reader users.
  • Filter buttons and their background display the appropriate color contrast.
  • Field toggles and their background display the appropriate color contrast.
  • In the Campaign Content table, all active interface components display the appropriate color contrast.
  • Loading messages are announced to Screen Reader users.
  • In Campaign Details, all active interface components display the appropriate color contrast.
  • When creating a new campaign, all active interface components display the appropriate color contrast.

 

Messages

The following are accessibility improvements to Messages:

  • In the Manage Messages table, all active interface components display the appropriate color contrast.
  • Filter buttons and their background display the appropriate color contrast.
  • Field toggles and their background display the appropriate color contrast.
  • When creating a message, content displays appropriately when the browser zoom is increased and the viewport width is larger.
  • When creating a message, all active interface components display the appropriate color contrast.
  • When viewing a message, all active interface components display the appropriate color contrast.

 

Login

The following are accessibility improvements to Login:

  • The borders of the email and password fields display the appropriate color contrast.
  • The Reveal/Hide password button displays the appropriate color contrast.

Fixed Bugs

 

  •  Attaching and creating new monitors to new contexts displays appropriately and preserves historical data.
  • Canvas Course Insights that have a significant number of users load appropriately.
