As an Nurse Educator I've had the pain of seeing the negative affects of what attributes are needed for a person to be a successful in society; including myself. I do believe character can be taught with willing participants. Just as an addict cannot get clean until they first, accept they have a problem. Most people are self consumed and do not realize their character maybe a hindrance in their success. I have always wondered why there are individuals that possess key attributes to be a great success and others that are in the position to receive the tools but still choose to be the opponent of good. Those who do the bear minimum.
After many years of teaching various personalities' I decided years ago to be true to my character. I have come to understand each individual students' capability and I teach from that preceptive. As Educators I believe we must believe for them and hold them accountable to be of good character.
