Feedback Notification

I am an elementary teacher. My students do not have access to send or receive gmail messages. When I leave feedback in Canvas, my students are not being notified in any way. I am having to ask them to open every course daily and just look in the grade book to see if feedback was left by any teacher the day before. The platform that the upper grades use notifies them on the right side of the screen that feedback was left. How can my elementary students be notified?
