Create a Collaboration Assignment with Template
I am getting ready to do a PD training with teachers over collaborations. I know how to create them, but had a question. Is there a way to create the collaboration and include a Google Drive Template for the group to complete together? Unless there is a way to attach a Google Drive Template (that I haven't found) then there really isn't a way to handle this situation that I can find. This is a great feature in Google Classroom, but can't seem to figure it out in Canvas. Looks like there is an option if you use Microsoft 360, but not Google Drive.

We have that set already. We can use Google Drive in all the parts of Canvas except for Collaborations. When a collaboration is setup, the members only can work with blank google docs, sheets, or slides. I can't have them begin with a template that I have created. The only work around that I have found is to set up groups, go in the group as the teacher and put a link to that google template for the group members to work on collaboratively. From reading other articles, it sounds like using Google Drive templates that the teacher creates isn't an option to use with Collaborations. Hopefully that is something that will change soon.
