Attempting to manually remove dates on items fails except when using the clear buttons
This behavior has been resolved and deployed to the production environment as of 11/06/24.
Description
When you manually remove the date/time from the Assign To field for Due date, Available from or Until date and then save, the manually removed date is not removed. You have to use the ‘clear’ option. This happens with Assignments (and NQ), classic quizzes, Discussions, and pages.
Expected Behavior
Users should be able to manually clear these dates.
Workaround
You have to select the ‘clear’ button under the respective date you are changing.
Steps to Reproduce

Have a course with a page, discussion, assignment, NQ or announcement

Use the Assign To tool to assign a date to all those items. Save.

Edit all those items and manually remove the date and save. Notice that the date was not actually removed as expected.
