Beta Discussion redesign surfacing incorrect options and verbiage on announcements edit page
This behavior has been resolved and deployed to the production environment as of 8/28/24.
Description
-
The second checkbox option displays: "Participants must respond to the topic before viewing other replies".
-
This should be removed as well, since announcements will not be graded, and replies don’t need to be hidden.(It feels like this has been brought over from discussions.)
-
-
Since we are removing the “delay posting” option and adopting availability dates for announcements we should update the following text that displays in a banner when attempting to make an announcement in an unpublished course(can see the banner here😞
-
Notifications will not be sent retroactively for announcements created before publishing your course or before the course start date. You may consider using the Delay Posting option and set to publish on a future date.
-
Expected Behavior
The verbiage mentioned above should be changed/options removed as part of the redesign efforts since they are not/are no longer applicable.
Workaround
No workaround exists at this time.
Steps to Reproduce
Prereq: An unpublished course in beta
-
Create an announcement in the course
-
Notice the banner with the incorrect verbiage and the checkbox for requiring a reply that is useless to be on an announcement.
