Enhanced Rubrics Feature Preview prevents assignment_view LTI placement from loading [Feature Preview]

This behavior has been resolved and deployed to the production environment as of 10/15/25.

This bug is related to a Feature Preview which indicates a feature in active development. Users who opt in to the feature and join the Community user group can help improve the feature through direct feedback. 

Description

When the Enhanced Rubrics Feature Preview is enabled, this prevents the assignment_view LTI placement from loading on an assignment.

Expected Behavior

Assignment_view placement should be showing if it is enabled for a tool.

Workaround

No workaround exists at this time.

Steps to Reproduce

Prerequisites:

  • Enable the Enhanced Rubrics Feature Preview for a course or account

  • An LTI with the assignment_view placement enabled

  1. Create an assignment with an Online, No Submission, or On Paper submission type, and click [Save & Publish].

  2. See how the LTI tool's assignment_view placement does not appear.
