Images do not display on Safari in all regions

This behavior has been resolved and deployed to the production environment as of 2025-10-28.

Description

Images display broken in Safari within Canvas.

Expected Behavior

Images should display in all supported browsers.

Workaround

  1. In Safari go to preferences and then to feature flags
  2. Search for Service workers
  3. Uncheck this box. this should let the images load

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Prerequisites: Have course with a few enrollments
  2. Create a page and embed an image in it. Publish it.
  3. As a student access the Canvas using Safari and open the page.
  4. Observe that the image is not displayed.
