This behavior has been resolved and deployed to the production environment as of 4/30/25.
Description
When editing a group of questions pulled from an item bank in New Quizzes, attempting to change which bank to pull questions from will never succeed. Clicking “done” will result in no change being made and the name of the bank will go back to being blank instead of the name of the bank you just selected.
Expected Behavior
Instead it should save the new item bank you selected to pull questions from.
Workaround
Delete the item bank question group and create a new one with the item bank you want the questions to be pulled from.
Steps to Reproduce
Prerequisite: Have some item banks accessible to your user on your instance of Canvas.

Create a course

Create a New Quiz
-
On the build page click the '+' button and then the Item bank icon

Select an item bank to pull questions from

Click the All / Random button
-
Click the edit pencil for the question group you just created

Delete the current item bank listed as the source bank and type in the name of another item bank

Try to click Done and see that the item bank name you just entered disappears from the source bank field
