This behavior has been resolved and deployed to the production environment as of 9/17/25.
In Numeric questions in New Quizzes, when entering numbers in the answer fields with decimals using scientific E notation, they are changed to 0 when the question is saved.
Numbers with decimals (negative numbers after e) should save properly in quiz questions.
No workaround exists at this time.
Create a New Quiz.
Add a Numeric question.
Enter a number as an answer with decimals using scientific notation in the answer field (ie: 1e-1).
Save the question. Notice it’s changed to 0.
