[OPEN] Cannot delete criteria until page refresh when creating new rubric


This behavior has been resolved and deployed to the production environment as of 4/10/24.


When creating a new rubric, none of the criteria can be deleted until the rubric is saved and the page is refreshed.

Expected Behavior

Instead users should be able to delete rubric criteria while creating the rubric.


Save the rubric, refresh the page, then edit the rubric and you are able to delete criteria.

Steps to Reproduce

Prerequisites: A course.

  1. Go to the rubrics page in the course and use the + Add Rubric button to bring up the rubric creation modal.

  2. Note that the trashcan icon to delete the default criterion does not show. If additional criteria are added, the trashcan icon also does not display.

  3. Save the rubric, then click the pencil icon to open the edit view again. Note that the trashcan icon still does not display.

  4. Refresh the page, then open the edit view for the rubric and note that the trashcan icon now displays and you are able to delete any of the criteria in the rubric.
