Canvas

Engineers are currently investigating the issue.

Description

  • In a New Quiz when editing fill-in-the-blank questions adding a new variable in the middle of the existing ones will reset the dropdowns for configuring the variables that come after the new one you added in.

Expected Behavior

  • Editing the question should not effect previous answer options that were already configured.

Workaround

No workaround exists at this time.

Steps to Reproduce

PREREQUISITE: Have a course with new quizzes enabled.

  1. Create a new quiz.

  2. Add “Fill in the blank” question with multiple variables defined using the “dropdowns” option

  3. Save the question.

  4. Edit the question and add a new variable in the middle of the existing ones.

  5. Notice that the variables that exist in the content after the one you added are now reset to their default state
