This behavior has been resolved and deployed to the production environment as of 1/28/25.
When embedding an image in a stimulus created in an item bank, the images show as broken for students while taking the quiz.
Images in other questions types pulled from item banks display for students
Images in stimulus questions created directly in a quiz display for students
Images shouldn’t be broken if embedded in a stimulus pulled from an item bank.
No workaround exists at this time.
Prerequisite: a course with at least one student enrolled
Create a new item bank on the course.
Create a new stimulus and under content, embed an image in the stimulus content
Create a new quiz and add the stimulus question from the previously created item bank, then attach a question to it.
Act as the student and try taking the quiz, notice that the embedded images show broken.
Create a second stimulus, but this time directly on the quiz then embed the same media file used on step 2.
Start a new attempt as the student and notice that this time, the image displays with no issues.
