Engineers are currently investigating the issue.
When a student completely runs out of time in a New Quiz with a time-limit; when reopened through Moderate, the UI will allow students to fully interact with the quiz responses for an unlimited duration until the page is reloaded.
UI does not indicate the expected time limit.
When the page is reloaded a “Times Up!" message appears.
If a quiz is reopened without an indicated time limit, the student(s) should get a “Times Up!" message immediately and not allowed to change the quiz answers.
No workaround exists at this time.
Prerequisites: a published course with at least one student enrolled:
Create a New Quiz with a time limit (a few minutes will suffice).
As a student, take the New Quiz and leave the quiz timer to run out.
As a teacher, Reopen the Quiz for the student from the Moderate tab.
As a student, Click ‘Resume’ and notice that the timer has no time limit set.
If you refresh the page, a “Times Up!" message will appear.
