After an outage on September 1, the Instructure Community is now fully available, including guides, release notes, forums, and groups. If some styling still looks unusual, clear your cache and cookies.
This behavior has been resolved and deployed to the production environment as of 5/21/25.
When a discussion reply is reported in a group discussion, the teacher in the course is not sent a Reported Reply notification even though their notification preference is setup to notify them of reported replies.
Instead it should send a Reported Reply based on the users notification preference.
No workaround exists at this time.
Prerequisites: in a published course with 1 teacher enrolled that has their Reported Replies notification preference set to ASAP and at least 2 students enrolled
Go to the People page and create a group set with 1 group with both students inside the group
Then act as the teacher in the course and verify that the reported replies is enabled on the discussion topics index page
Then create a group discussion set to the group set that was just created
Act as a student and go to the discussion topic and make a reply
Act as another student and go to the discussion topic and report the other students reply
Go to the teachers /messages page and see that no notification is sent.
