Studio defaults to English audio for dual track YouTube videos with no option to change

Issue Documented: 2025-10-10
Canvas

This behavior has been declined as it must be resolved by a third-party vendor.

Description

When embedding a YouTube video with dual audio tracks (e.g. Spanish original + English dubbed) into Canvas Studio, Studio automatically plays the English dubbed track with no option to switch back to Spanish.

Expected Behavior

Instead it should preserve the original language track (Spanish in this case), or provide an option for the user to select their preferred audio track (e.g., Spanish or English).

Workaround

No workaround exists at this time.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Copy the YouTube share link

  2. Go to Canvas Studio.

  3. Click the Create button → from the menu, select Add Media.

  4. Under the YouTube option, paste the YouTube link and click Add Video.

  5. Now play the video from Canvas Studio. Observe that the audio defaults to the English dubbed track, with no option to switch back to Spanish.
