The Instructure Community will enter a read-only state on November 22, 2025 as we prepare to migrate to our new Community platform in early December.
Read our blog post for more info about this change.

This behavior has been resolved and deployed to the production environment as of 4/9/25.
When an account has discussion checkpoints enabled, if a user creates a discussion in a blueprint course that uses that option, and syncs the discussion to an association course, the discussion in the association will not generate sub assignment submissions objects. This causes the gradebook not to load, and produces an error when accessing the submissions API.
The discussion in the association should have sub assignment submissions objects.
Run the SLM
Enable discussion checkpoints in the account features
Create a blueprint course
Create a course, and associate it to the blueprint course
Add at least one student to the association course
In the blueprint course, add a graded discussion, and enable discussion checkpoints
Sync the blueprint changes
In the association, note that the assignment submissions API produces an error when including sub_assignment_submissions. Also note the error in the gradebook
