The Instructure Community will enter a read-only state on November 22, 2025 as we prepare to migrate to our new Community platform in early December.
Read our blog post for more info about this change.

This behavior has been resolved and deployed to the production environment as of 4/9/25.
If you attach a media comment in the submission comment area, and the video was originally recorded on a phone in portrait mode the videos height does not scale beyond a certain point which results in most of the video being out of view in the iframe it loads in.
The media player buttons also are affected as they appear at the bottom of the video which is outside of view.
The video should be scaled down appropriately to fit the size of the frame it loads in inside of speedgrader.
No workaround exists at this time.
Prereq: An assignment, a video that was recorded with a phone in portrait mode(gratuitous in height.)
As a student, submit to the assignment, and leave a media attachment as a submission comment.
In the speedgrader, click the video, and see that only the top part of the video is visible.
