Two Use Cases for Custom Products:

  • District-Specific Resources: LearnPlatform allows you to add products that are unique to your district and wouldn't be found in the broader LearnPlatform library. This includes homegrown tools, hardware, community partnerships, or any resource relevant to your teachers but not necessarily used by other districts.
  • New EdTech Tools: When educators request a tool not currently in the LearnPlatform library, the process now involves creating a custom product entry. This allows the district to review the request and, if approved, submit it to the LearnPlatform team for vetting and potential inclusion in the broader community library. The benefit of including the product in the LearnPlatform community library is the ability to track the url in the inventory dashboard, send applications to vendors, and access to third party privacy information.

Benefits:

  • Streamlined Educator Requests:. Previously Educators needed to request products that are not included in the LearnPlatform Community Library, and then to the district for vetting. Educators now submit requests using the assigned form, with the URL directly to the district. This change eliminates the need to submit 2 requests for the product. 
  • Visibility for Admin This new process keeps admins informed of the initial request, which allows for a quicker review process. Admin have the ability to close the request, submit it to the LearnPlatform Community team for review, and/or  begin a review/workflow. 
  • Increased Customization Allows Admin to rename and update logos for  all products
