I am posting here since no reply has been made to my initial in the Ideas section. Why does Mastery Connect not allow us to change the answer to an Item bank question after it is published and then reflect that change amongst all or selected assessments? Mistakes are made and not allowing us to fix those in a timely manner turns teachers away from your product. We already have enough on our hands. To go along with this, why can we not change from EXACT MATCH to PARTIAL MATCH? Just give the option and regrade. Fixing answers can be done in Canvas New Quizzes. Instructure owns that. Why is this an issue in Mastery Connect?
It is blatantly obvious that this program was made by non-educators.
This is a new change, as well. We used to be able to change it after it was saved in the original assessment which allowed it the change to go to all educators using the same assessment. Now, I have to change the key in each tracker instead of one fix. This product is getting worse.
Hi Mark,
Thank you for your inquiry about changing the Correct Answer on an Item in Mastery Connect.
Generally speaking, material changes to Items are not allowed after an Assessment has been administered due to the complexity of re-scoring all responses. Any Reports previously generated and distributed, would no longer be accurate.
Many folks take advantage of the Draft mode for both Items and Assessments for a review process, prior to publishing.
Further Support on this, or any other matter Mastery Connect, is available by clicking on the Question Mark to the left of your name > then Submit a support request.
Thank You

It can be done. We came from Mastery Manager where this was non-issue. We could change answers in the item banks and on document uploaded assessments and fix errors. It can be done in Canvas Quizzes as well. Complexity or not, the option needs to be allowed if Instructure really did care about assessment data being true. How can I give my students and their parents a true report of their mastery of the content if the program we are using does not allow us to give that representation?
This makes some sense (although as many stated- other programs are able to address this), however, we should be able to change the answer key for an assessment that we haven't even used yet if we notice the error after publishing!
