In this MasteryConnect release (November 2), administrators and benchmark facilitators can manage tools and accommodations options at the benchmark level.

Benchmark Tools and Accommodations

Administrators and benchmark facilitators can manage tools and accommodations options at the benchmark level. This update provides various tools to meet student needs during the assessment process.

A new Tools and Accommodations section is present on the benchmark management page. This section allows administrators and benchmark facilitators to select which tools will be available to all students on a benchmark assessment. These tools and accommodations include flagging, highlighter, strikethrough, line reader, calculator (basic, extended, scientific), Desmos calculator (if the district has purchased it), and the option to include question level tools.

Teachers do not have permissions to alter tools or accommodations for benchmark assessments. However, teachers can view which tools and accommodations are available for a particular benchmark assessment via the assess modal.

While taking a benchmark assessment, students can access what tools and accommodations are available to them.

Even if enabled, the highlight function will not appear in the student menu. The highlight function will automatically appear after a student has selected text.
