Mastery Connect Roles and Permissions

Find your school's Canvas URL

To find your school or institution's Canvas URL, begin typing the name of your school/institution. Results will appear after you type at least 3 characters. For best results be as specific as possible. If you can't find your school, try using any part of your school's name or searching for your school district or state. You may also need to search for the school using the acronym or full name, for example "USU" and "Utah State University".

Mastery Connect Roles and Permissions

Every user in Mastery Connect is assigned a standard role. A Mastery Connect standard role enables a set of default capabilities for users who are assigned that role. Additionally, most users can be given one additive permission role on top of their existing standard role. Learn more about how to assign users standard and additive permission roles. View each role's default permissions below.

Notes:

  • District Administrators cannot be assigned additive permission roles. District Administrator roles have access to all additive permissions by default.
  • Limited School Administrators and Limited District Administrators cannot be assigned the Benchmark Author additive permission role. The interface prevents this because doing so would automatically make the user a School Administrator or District Administrator, respectively.
  • If you are not sure which role or permission you have, contact your administrator.
