I'm hoping someone can give some insight, we haven't yet contacted Credentials but will be soon.
For our pilot using Credentials (badges and Pathways) we are installing at the course level. In the integration install, we then go into the Admin panel under the Group setup and turn-off the ability for faculty to use their personal issuer, edit/create badges, and attach a Pathway. The only thing left on is the last option on copying the data from "templates and blueprints" (just to see if it made a difference).
What we want to do:
- install in individual courses for our pilot badging program and attach the relevant Pathways and hook up the badge to the badge-awarding assignment
- make sure the permissions under Deployment Preferences "stick"
- have the professor copy this term's course with all of the correct settings/Pathways/badges into a fall term course and have it all stick
What isn't happening:
This is an issue because:
- They are then able to EDIT THE BADGES in the Pathway/Issuer! Programmatic badges, they can edit them from within Canvas. This affects the badge globally (which is used by multiple courses in different Pathways)
- They can then see all Pathways in the Org (because that reset and toggled on) -- even in our "not public Test Issuer" issuers.
Is there a way to make sure there are default Deployment Settings THAT STICK in a course copy? When installing in a sub-account, I don't see anything in the help guides that you can set it there either.
Halp?!
