effectiveness of disabling Credentials notifications

I have experienced issues with turning off email notifications for Credentials at the organization level. Here is a particular situation that occurred. I attempted to turn off email notifications by the following navigation:

1. Edit Organization
2. Notification Settings
3. Newly earned badge awards
4. Choose Notification Type
5. deselect Email

I then did a bulk award of badges, and all of the recipients got email notifications. Could it have been an issue of a delay in the updated settings actually taking effect? Has anyone else experienced this issue? @DoraJekkel do you have any insights?

Was it the first time these learners were awarded with the badge? The first e-mail always need to go out due to privacy reasons (as we are a new provided, we must notify them) regardless of the notification settings. All other upcoming badge awards should not result in an e-mail setting after the first, if it is disabled in the settings.

If it was not the first e-mail, please reach out to our support team, so we can investigate the issue further.
