What is a Canvas Sandbox?
We offer Partners the opportunity to purchase a Canvas sandbox at an annual fee of $2000 USD. The Sandbox is a fully-functioning, production-level Canvas environment that our Partners use to test, develop, maintain, and demo their integration(s). This is the same environment provided to our Canvas Cloud customers. Because this instance is Instructure-hosted, it will receive updates on the same schedule as our customers and each sandbox also comes with access to a Beta environment.
The Canvas sandbox provides the ability to provision Administrator accounts necessary to enable integrations within a Canvas instance. Additionally, the sandbox is a great place for other use-cases such as troubleshooting unexpected behavior with mutual customers to improve the support experience, and an environment for your sales team to demonstrate your Canvas integration to prospective customers. The use of sub-accounts can help create environments for different use-cases.
Lastly, the Partner Sandbox opens up access to our Partner Support team who can answer technical questions regarding integration. Users will submit requests to the Partner Support team from directly within the Sandbox environment. Check out our How do I access Partner Support resource for more information.
