One of the great things about Canvas is that it is always growing and changing to better meet the needs of its users. That being said, in an effort to keep the content in the Growing with Canvas course aligned with the latest resources in the Canvas Community and provide users with an enhanced learning experience, the course has undergone a recent update. In this blog post, we will explore what has changed in the course and how you can leverage it to elevate your knowledge about Canvas.
The updated version of the Growing with Canvas course includes embedded Canvas Community Guides along with content highlighting key features, as well as providing links to additional helpful resources.
For those familiar with the previous versions of the Growing with Canvas course, you may notice that it no longer features embedded videos from the Canvas Community. This change allows users to access the most up-to-date information and resources directly from the Canvas Community Guides, which may now include “Canvas Shorts” videos embedded within the guide themselves, providing a more comprehensive learning experience.
The videos that were previously embedded within the course, along with additional video content, may still be accessed within the Canvas Community Video Guides, though some may not reflect the latest updates. These resources may be leveraged as you see fit, along with all the amazing resources in the Community. The Canvas Video links spreadsheet is available to access links and embed codes as needed. Please be aware that some videos may be updated or made shorts that are embedded in the guides, while some may be archived as they become outdated.
This course makes a great starting point for training your faculty. Check out the very first page in the Introduction module for tips and tricks about deploying the course to your institution.
The course is configured to work with Canvas Credentials and award badges for completion of each module. Instructions for setting up the integration, using the images, and awarding the badges are included in the course.
Even if your institution does not enroll faculty in a training course, this course is also for you. Individual teachers can grab your very own copy of Growing with Canvas and use it to learn how to use the LMS in your own courses effectively.
