Teachers can attach tools which support this specification to any assignment to have it process uploaded submissions. The tool can then process the submission and provide feedback such as a similarity score.

Why is it valuable?

The Asset Processor specification allows LTI tools to process submissions which are uploaded directly to Canvas. This is particularly useful for plagiarism detection services.
