Canvas and Infinite Campus sync

We normally have one course and may have up to four sections in that course.  We just added infinite campus as our sis.  We are able to sync only if we have a separate course for each section.  That means four canvas pages to keep up to date- a lot of copying daily.  When we try to sync the main course (and yes the sections are there) we get unassociated and cannot sync.  Are we doing something wrong or is this just the way it is?
