Canvas and Powerschool

Using PowerSchool (PS) and Canvas.   Classes in PS can be set up for semester and yearlong.   Some students that only need a semester of a class (semester level) are put in a yearlong class. When this one class in PS is ported over to  Canvas, 2 classes are created.  One for the semester student(s) and One for the yearlong students.   Is there any way to have the two merged into 1 class?  I will also be looking for a workaround through PS.  If you know of a possible workaround on either product, it would be a great timesaver.   If this is strictly a PS issue, I understand, and will look for a solution there.  Thank you
