Canvas does not sync late assignments to Aspen

I am having trouble with grade sync when I try to sync anything turned in late. It does not update in Aspen. I do not want to take off any points, I just need it to update the grade in Aspen. If the assignment is turned in late and I try to grade sync it after the due date, it does not update in Aspen. I checked my grade settings and there is nothing there that says don't update late grades. Even when I change the due date, they are not updating in Aspen if they have already been submitted. Any help would be appreciated.

@VALERIEELTON It may be that the grading period is closed, which is preventing the late submissions from syncing to Aspen, and if that is the case, there isn't anything that can be done to make the grades sync--you will need to manually enter the grades into Aspen.
