At Instructure, we're constantly working to enhance the tools you rely on every day. As part of that commitment, we’re excited to announce a significant upgrade to the core infrastructure powering our DAP Query API / CD2. This upgrade will require a maintenance outage, read below for the detailed schedule per region.

What’s New?

We’ve rolled out a series of backend improvements designed to make your experience smoother and more dependable. While most of this work is behind the scenes, the benefits are significant.

Rollout Schedule & Maintenance

To bring these improvements to you, the rollout is scheduled to start on Monday, November 10, 2025.

To complete this upgrade, a scheduled 4-hour maintenance window will be required for the DAP Query API / CD2 API. During this time, the API will be temporarily unavailable. The timing of this maintenance will vary by region to minimize disruption:

Starting each defined date and region at 12:00 UTC

Region

Maintenance Window

Canada (Central): ca-central-1

2025. November 10.

US West (Oregon, US): us-west-2

2025. November 12.

Europe (Ireland): eu-west-1

2025. November 12.

Europe (Frankfurt, Germany): eu-central-1

2025. November 12.

Asia Pacific (Singapore): ap-southeast-1

2025. November 14.

Asia Pacific (Sydney): ap-southeast-2

2025. November 14.

US East (N. Virginia, US): us-east-1

2025. November 14.

Please note this schedule is subject to change if any issues arise before or on the day of the event.

No action is needed from you. If you have an integration that is already set up and working, you can continue to use it as usual after the maintenance window is closed.

What This Means For You

  • Higher Data Fidelity: This upgrade brings a new level of precision and reliability to our data replication. We are more confident than ever in the quality of the data delivered through the API.
  • Easier Data Extensibility: This upgrade opens up possibilities for adding additional data sources. The next on our list is New Quizzes for 2025 Q4.

A Note on Data Consistency

As we move to this more advanced infrastructure, our system is now better at capturing and correcting for inconsistencies that may have been missed in the past. As a result, you may notice some minor differences when comparing newly delivered data against historical records from a snapshot.

This is a positive sign of the enhanced accuracy of our new system. Rest assured, all data delivered from this point forward will reflect this higher standard of fidelity.

We are excited about this step forward and will continue to invest in the performance and reliability of our platform. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our support team.

Thanks,

The Instructure Product Team
