Dear Canvas Credentials Community,

We're thrilled to share some exciting news that will undoubtedly enhance your experience within the Canvas Credentials platform. Your feedback has been invaluable, and we've been diligently working on a solution to address one of the most pressing concerns: notification enhancements. We're delighted to announce that these enhancements will be rolling out on March 11th!

Notifications are an essential aspect of any platform, keeping users informed and engaged. However, we understand that the current notification system has been less than ideal, particularly regarding badge award statuses and group expirations. But fear not! Our team has been hard at work, and we're confident that these enhancements will significantly improve your Canvas Credentials experience.

So, what can you expect from these notification enhancements?

  • Consolidated Notification Settings:

Ever found yourself searching for specific notification settings or struggling to manage them effectively? Look no further! Our latest enhancement consolidates all notification settings under your organization's settings. This streamlined approach empowers you to customize notification preferences for issuers effortlessly, while also offering settings for new badge awards and pathway invitations in one convenient location.

  • Enhanced Customization Options:

Recognizing the diverse preferences of organizations and individual users, we're introducing enhanced customization options. Tailor notifications to suit your specific needs—choose between in-app or email notifications, schedule them according to your preferences, and even customize the message content to reflect your unique communication style.

  • Timely Badge Award Notifications:

Say goodbye to unnoticed revocation or expiration of badge awards. Our new feature allows you to schedule badge award status notifications according to your preferences. Keep learners informed about any changes in their badge awards status with timely notifications.

  • Expiring Group Notifications:

Ever faced the frustration of expired groups resulting in missed awards for learners? Not anymore! Introducing ending group notifications, which give you the ability to notify issuers about expiring groups. Customize schedules, messages, and notification types to ensure smooth management of group expirations.

  • In-App Notifications for Free Customers:

As part of our commitment to enhancing user experience, free customers will now receive badge award notifications through in-app notifications within Canvas or the standalone application. Please note that as a result of this enhancement, the option to send badge award emails for free customers will be discontinued. This change aims to streamline the notification process and ensure a consistent and efficient communication channel within the Canvas Credentials platform.

These enhancements are a result of extensive collaboration and feedback from our community members, stakeholders, and internal teams. We've listened to your concerns and focused our efforts on delivering a solution that meets your needs.

We're committed to continuously improving the Canvas Credentials platform, and these notification enhancements are just the beginning. We value your feedback and encourage you to continue sharing your thoughts and suggestions with us.

Make sure to mark March 11th on your calendars, as we embark on a journey toward a new era of exceptional notifications within Canvas Credentials. We appreciate your continued support as part of our community, and we're eager to enhance your user experience together!

Best regards,

The Canvas Credentials Team
