The Impact Team has been hard at work over the last several months to bring you some much-anticipated features and functionality and we have no intention of slowing down. With the roadmap updated, below is a high-level overview of what you can expect for the coming months this year.
Wrapping up the first half of 2024
As we quickly approach the end of the first half of the year, there are two loose ends that we are tying up:
- Finishing all required accessibility tasks to ensure that we are substantially conformant and demonstrated by an updated VPAT.
- Releasing the LTI Tools Enhancements that will allow you visibility into included rules, as well as the ability to create your own custom rules to improve the accuracy of your LTI data.
Coming in the second half of 2024
The second half of 2024 is going to be amazing for Impact as we work to release the following new and exciting features and functionalities:
- LTI Usage Data (July): See and understand where, by whom, and how often LTIs are used within Canvas, then take immediate action on the data by launching an Impact campaign to deepen adoption, so that you can ensure ROI on your edtech investments. Another Product Blog post coming soon specific to LTI Usage Data, so stay tuned!
- Course & Term Based Messaging (Q3): Create more meaningful dynamic custom user groups based on Canvas course(s) and/or term(s) to target for messaging. See the most recent update in this Product Blog post.
- Additional phases of UI, UX, & A11y improvements (Q3 & Q4): Navigate more easily and take less time to do the things that you need to do in a more accessible, streamlined, and meaningful way with the new and improved design and user experience. See the previous Product Blog post about planned phases.
- Additional phases of LTI Usage Data (Q3 & Q4): Compare usage data across LTI tools, create custom charts and save in the new chart library, and experience deeper integrations and improved workflows. Another Product Blog post coming soon specific to LTI Usage Data, so stay tuned!
- *Newly added* Public-facing APIs for Impact at Scale (Q4): Be able to securely send messages, create user groups, and retrieve Impact data regarding messaging via API.
- *Newly added* Canvas Credentials Integration (Q3):View and understand the usage and adoption of Credentials/Badgr in Canvas to make better data-informed decisions, as well as deepen overall adoption of Credentials/Badgr through in-app messaging and support with Impact.
- *Newly added* New Quizzes Integration (Q4 or Q1): View and understand the usage and adoption of New Quizzes in Canvas to make better data-informed decisions, help ensure successful migration from Classic Quizzes to New Quizzes by providing in-app messaging and support, as well as deepen overall adoption of New Quizzes with Impact.
Additionally, we are planning to do discoveries for continued innovation and development on:
- Better Supporting Consortia/Impact at Scale (Q3)
- Leveraging Instructure Partners to Enhance LTI Adoption Data & Content (Q3)
- Improved Content Organization, Creation, and Updating (Q3 or Q4)
- Mobile Messaging (Q4)
Lastly, it was great to meet with so many of you the week before last as part of our Impact User Group Meetings where we discussed the items above.
