We are excited about our partnership with eLumen! Their new product, Insights for Canvas, adds core tools to Canvas Outcomes and enables you to do more with assessment planning.

We heard you – the manual processes of accreditation and program review are time-consuming and frustrating for assessment coordinators and faculty. And this is even more burdensome for institutions trying to manage multiple accreditation cycles at the same time. Insights enhances and transforms Canvas Outcomes by streamlining assessment initiatives in one place, from alignment to planning—all seamlessly integrated with core Canvas features like outcomes, rubrics, and learning mastery grade book.

Insights standardizes evidence gathering, streamlines document management, provides meaningful alignment of content, and meets accreditation requirements for faculty involvement. It also has tools for checking the quality of your learning outcomes statements and the coverage of your curriculum maps.

Features

  • Curriculum mapping
  • Advanced assessment planning
  • Juried assessment for accreditation
  • Evidence for micro-credentialing
  • SLO versioning and quality check
  • Data analytics

If you want to find out how to leverage this all-encompassing set of assessment tools that will manage outcomes, manage rubrics, and enhance your institution’s learning outcomes data - all within Canvas – eLumen is accepting qualified institutions into their early adopter program. Reach out to Shelby Johnson at shelby@elumenconnect.com.

Will there ever be a way to assign more than one standard to assignments imported into electronic grade books?

Hi Karen,

For the time being, Insights utilizes Speedgrader to capture learning outcome data, so it works with the Assignments tool in courses. Canvas Outcomes does allow you to attach multiple outcomes to any assignment, discussion, or quiz created in the course. However, from my research, it does not look like outcomes can be attached to just any imported gradebook items at this time.
