We’re thrilled to launch one of the most-requested features from our Impact Ideas & Themes voting: Course-Restricted Messaging! This update gives admins a precise, intuitive way to target messages so the right people see the right information, exactly where it matters.
Effective messaging depends on context. When students or faculty see irrelevant announcements, it creates noise and confusion. Important updates like exam reminders, assignment deadlines, or resource changes should appear only in the courses where they apply.
With Course-Restricted Messaging, admins can now deliver updates not just by role, sub-account, or term, but directly at the course level. This added precision ensures that every message feels relevant, reducing distractions and strengthening the connection between instructors, students, and their learning journey.
Admins can now:
The result? Messaging that’s accurate, relevant, and only visible in the courses where it belongs.
With Course-Restricted Messaging, admins can:
This precision reduces confusion, eliminates noise, and maximizes the impact of every message.
Early testers are already seeing results:
“I was able to target messages to specific course sites using the upload tool. Everything worked perfectly—messages appeared in the courses I selected, and nowhere else. Exactly what I needed.”
Course-Restricted Messaging is now live in Impact’s redesigned Inline Editor. Admins can begin creating course-specific communications immediately for more personalized, contextual, and effective messaging strategies.
