Last back-to-school season, we introduced a redesigned analytics experience in Mastery Connect, giving educators more intuitive dashboards, advanced filters, and the ability to save customized reports. That launch was just the beginning. Since then, we’ve heard from educators and administrators who told us how the new Analytics experience was making a difference — but also where we could continue to improve to help them get to the exact insights they needed about their students even faster and more intuitively. Specifically, they asked for quicker ways to identify struggling students, clearer views of standards performance, and fewer clicks to get from data to action.

This year’s updates are a direct response to that feedback. We’ve refined and expanded Mastery Analytics to put the most actionable insights front-and-center — whether you’re a district leader scanning performance trends, or a teacher planning small-group instruction. Every enhancement builds on the foundation we laid last year, making Analytics not only more powerful, but more practical for the decisions educators make every day.

Pinpoint trends with the standards overview chart

The new Standards Chart on the District and School Overview Dashboards puts granular performance data at administrators’ fingertips so they can view performance data in real time and use it to make timely and strategic decisions where they’ll be the most impactful.

This visualization will allow administrators to view the 500 most recently assessed standards in your district so they can quickly:

  • Spot which standards are being assessed- and how often
  • See how students are performing on each recently assessed standard
  • Identify trends and develop plans for targeted supports where they're needed most

Whether you're analyzing performance trends across grade levels or diving deep into a single PLC, the Standards Chart helps you focus instruction on the skills that matter most.

Align with State Expectations Using Flexible Mastery Scales

We now support 5-tier mastery scales, alongside existing 3- and 4-tier options—giving you full flexibility to align reporting with your state or district’s preferred scale.

Note: To enable this feature, contact your Customer Success Manager. Any existing trackers, maps, and assessments will need to be manually recreated or cloned to support the updated scale.

Support the right students, at the right time

Our redesigned teacher home page now allows educators to quickly access the insights they need about their courses most, right from when they open Mastery Connect. We’ve introduced a new Students to Support feature that does the heavy lifting of identifying which learners need the most immediate attention.

This updated home page allows teachers to sort students by average proficiency levels on formative and benchmark assessments, allowing them to:

  • Quickly spot students who are struggling across formative and benchmark assessments
  • Plan meaningful instructional groups or targeted interventions based on students’ needs
  • Identify and discrepancies between formative and benchmark performance
  • Bring data to PLC meetings for meaningful data meetings without hours of prep

This feature turns your home page into an at-a-glance support list so you can spend more time where it matters most — with your students.

Fewer clicks to get to your reports

We’ve made navigating Mastery Analytics more intuitive and efficient, so you can move from insight to action with fewer clicks.

New updates include the ability to:

  • Jump directly from the Overview dashboard to Assessment Comparisons or Saved Dashboards.
  • Access overview dashboards right from the Mastery Tracker.
  • Drill-down to School Assessment Results from the District Assessment Result Dashboard.
  • Access Overview Analytics and Assessment Results from the Home Page.

Benefit: Less time hunting for reports = more time using them to impact instruction.

New Filters

We’ve expanded filter options to give district leaders and coaches even more control over what data they see.

Now you can:

  • Filter by specific Trackers or Teachers across schools.
  • Analyze trends for particular cohorts or student groups.
  • Narrow in on the data that’s most relevant to your goals.

Whether you're evaluating the impact of a curriculum change or looking across schools at a grade-level trend, refined filters make it easier to make data-driven decisions to benefit student learning.

Updated Average Percent Score

We’ve updated the “average percent correct” metric on Mastery Analytics to "average percent score” This updated metric provides a clearer reflection of how students are performing.

Why it’s better:

  • More closely aligns with how assessments are scored.
  • Easier for educators to interpret and act on.
  • Reduces confusion and makes performance reports more meaningful

Get Ready to Maximize Every Assessment

With these enhancements, Mastery Connect is even more actionable, intuitive, and aligned with how educators and administrators work every day. As the new school year kicks off, we’re excited to help you use your data more strategically - from the classroom to the district office.
