Dear Canvas Credentials Community,
We're thrilled to announce the official release of our highly-anticipated Notification Enhancements in Canvas Credentials! This update introduces a range of new features aimed at streamlining your notification experience and keeping you informed about critical badge-related actions.
Admins and issuers can now customize notifications for various events, including newly earned badge awards, invitations to pathways, expiring badge awards, revoked badge awards, and ending groups.
How it Works:
With the introduction of Notification Enhancements, administrators now have access to a new Notification Settings tab when editing the Organization level. This tab empowers admins to customize notifications according to their preferences, offering them the flexibility to allow issuers to override notification settings as needed.
Furthermore, the "Allow Email Notifications" checkbox, previously located within Content Settings, has been seamlessly integrated into the Notification Settings tab. This relocation simplifies the organization of notification settings for administrators, ensuring a more intuitive user experience.
Feature Overview:
Administrators now wield comprehensive control over notification settings within Canvas Credentials. They are empowered to:
- Determine whether issuers can override their settings.
- Opt for email, in-app notifications, or none.
- Establish notification schedules in advance.
- Customize and reset notification content as needed.
For Notification Recipients:
A. In-app notifications will be showcased in the user notification tray. Users can expand or collapse notification details using the "Show less" [1] or "Show More" [2] links. Additionally, an unread notifications indicator [3] is displayed as a circle icon.
B. Email notifications provide users with the ability to view badges online [1] or download them [2] directly from the notification.
C. Within the Credentials LTI, a new "Notifications" option is incorporated into the drop-down menu.
Please note: Free customers will receive notifications regarding newly earned badge awards exclusively via in-app notifications.
