Hello Canvas Credentials Community!

We're thrilled to share a new enhancement that puts the power of efficient badge management directly into your hands. Without further ado, let's dive into the details of our latest feature – the much-requested "Delete Option" for badge classes.

Background:

In response to your valuable feedback, we've revisited and enhanced the badge management functionality in Canvas Credentials. Previously, the delete option for badge classes was replaced with an archive function, limiting the flexibility for users. Your insights have guided us to reintroduce the delete option with improved functionality, addressing the need for a streamlined and user-friendly experience.

Now, let's explore how you can use this new feature to your advantage.

Accessing the Delete Option:

  1. Log in to your Canvas Credentials account.
  2. Navigate to the badge class management interface.
  3. At the bottom of the drill down menu, you'll now find the prominently displayed "Delete Badge" option.

Removing Unwanted Badge Classes:

  1. Click on the "Delete Badge" option for the badge class you wish to remove.
  2. The system will perform a quick check for any pathway associations or assertions linked to the badge class.

Handling Pathway Associations or Assertions:

  1. If there are pathway associations or active assertions, the system will notify you.
  2. Follow the provided instructions to manually delete associations or revoke assertions before proceeding with the deletion.

Irreversible Deletion Process:

  1. If there are no associations, confirm your decision to delete.
  2. The system will inform you that the deletion process is irreversible and will automatically remove any not active (expired or revoked) badge awards or associations within a course.
