Learning Services is pleased to announce that the release of a new training course developed by Cengage has been added to the Training Services Portal on March 27, 2023.
Cengage helps higher education instructors, learners, and institutions thrive with course materials built around their needs. Cengage is focused on helping millions of learners achieve their education and career goals and lead choice-filled lives. They have partnered with Instructure to create an engaging training course that can be accessed from the Training Services Portal. Institutions with a Standard or Premium subscription to the Training Services Portal will have access to this course. Course Description
Cengage’s course trains portal users on one example of a Cengage Online Learning Platform, MindTap. The learner will experience the seamless experience of being able to access MindTap’s activities, such as a chapter reading, videos, and assessments. With LMS Integration, students are ready to learn on the first day of class with all the content accessible from one location. Additional features, like grade synchronization, make course management easier, too! The course includes a series of Modules with written content, images, and videos. Upon completion of this course, a verifiable, digital badge is awarded so learners can showcase a credential as evidence of learning. This course provides in depth information and use cases of the tool for those looking for a deeper application than what may be found in a guide. It is targeted for those new to Cengage, but existing users may benefit if they’re unfamiliar with the process of integrating individual assignments. Instructors who have only integrated at the course level, but are interested in learning more about grade synchronization and creating links for individual activities will be able to use the course to experience how easy it is for students to go from Canvas directly to a Cengage activity with just one click. By the end of the course, learners will be able to:
- Understand Cengage and its benefits to instructors and learners.
- Explore one of Cengage’s Online Learning Platforms to get a better understanding of students’ experience with course content in the LMS, as well as see what’s inside a MindTap course.
- Understand how Cengage and Canvas have partnered together to create a more intuitive user experience for instructors and students.
